We need a finance operator who can own the money machine.
You will make sure payments go out on time, operations gives finance what it needs before each payment cycle, and every transaction is clean.
You will build models and tools for the CEO, track margins and unit economics, and help us make sharper financial decisions. This is a full-time independent contractor role. We want someone who can start ASAP.
What you'll do
- Own the payment cycle from inputs to completion.
- Make sure operations sends the right data before each payment period starts.
- Keep transactions clean, documented, and easy to audit.
- Build and maintain financial models for forecasts, cash, margin, hiring, and scenario planning.
- Track margin, costs, pricing inputs, and unit economics.
- Build internal finance tools and automations using code, spreadsheets, APIs, or no-code tools.
- Create simple reports and dashboards that show what is happening and what decision needs to be made.
- Work directly with the CEO on financial decisions.
Must have
- Tech startup finance experience.
- Strong finance fundamentals: P&L, cash flow, margin, unit economics, and forecasting.
- Experience owning payment operations or finance operations with high accuracy.
- Can code or build finance tools using SQL, Python, JavaScript, Apps Script, Retool, Airtable, Zapier, or similar tools.
- Can build financial models from scratch and explain them simply.
- High ownership. You catch misses before they become problems.
- Strong written communication in English.
Nice to have
- Experience with remote teams or contractor payments.
- Experience with Wise, Stripe, Xero, QuickBooks, Google Sheets, Excel, or BI tools.
- Experience in pricing, capacity planning, marketplace operations, service operations, AI, or data businesses.
